Some projects just need designers. Some projects need designers, strategists, coders and the rest.

Laura Morgan created Sitesmiths to be a flexible option for businesses of all sizes. Laura can either work directly one-on-one with businesses, or team up with her network of like-minded professionals for larger projects, each of which has a variety of award winning skill sets and portfolios for Darwin businesses. The flexibility of working with independent contractors means that customers can get the same level of expertise and collaboration as they get from large agencies without paying for the large overheads. There's no salesmen, you're dealing directly with the creatives, strategists and coders who will create your project.

Sitesmiths also love to team up with other design agencies to help boost designers/developers on short to long term contracts, and have the flexibility to work wherever you need.

Experience

Laura Morgan began working in the digital design industry 10 years ago as a Graphic Web Designer, first as a freelancer, then for a boutique digital agency in the UK. During her time there she was able to work on a number of large clients including the Yorkshire Building Society and Pirelli Tyres.

The majority of her role was creative thinking and digital strategy, working as part of a small team with a large skill set where ideas and collaboration were first and foremost.

After three years Laura travelled to Australia and began working at a Darwin based design agency and brought with her that same skill set which grew into user experience design. Having worked in Darwin for more than 5 years in the digital strategy and design field she came to understand the Darwin and Australia market and was able to help small, medium and large agencies achieve a variety of goals through websites, intranets, software and mobile application development.

By the end of those 8 years, Laura had built up her client experience to include agencies such as the Northern Territory Government (intranets and public facing websites), Power and Water, TIO, Off the Leash Magazine (winning an Australian Web Award), RIEL (finishing as a finalist for an Australian Web Award), NT Fishing Mate, Darwin Airport and Tourism NT to name but a few.

Looking for her next challenge, Laura left her role as User Experience Designer and created Sitesmiths. Laura now works with multiple design agencies across the globe as well as maintaining her own client base, specialising in website, intranet and user interface design with a particular focus on user experience and digital strategy.
