Who makes up the team?

Technically speaking it's just me (Hi! I'm Laura!). I'm a one woman band, and I've worked around the globe before finding my heart in Darwin over 6 years ago.

I'm part of a collaboration network

I really wanted Sitesmiths to be an option for businesses of all sizes. Some projects just need designers. Some projects need designers, strategists, coders and the rest.

Darwin has many freelance professionals who regularly team up with each other for larger projects so you can choose to use each person individually or create a specialised supergroup to work together on a project. And I'm part of that network!

The flexibility of working with independent contractors means that customers can get the same level of expertise and collaboration as they get from large agencies without paying for the large overheads. There's no salesmen on commission, no corporate office space and no company cars to pay for. You're dealing directly with the creatives, strategists and coders who will create your project.

By choosing each freelancer individually you can create a specialised team perfect for your exact project. Some coders are better at the interactive visuals, some are more capable of handling complex data driven websites - we want to make sure we're using the right people for your project.

The freelancers that I team up with work with designers and developers to see what works and what doesn't,  meaning that the freelancers I work with are constantly learning and evolving faster than in-house staff.

How does IT work?

I come to meet you and assess your needs and we plan out the ideal approach for you. Then I become your project manager (+ designer) and assemble the perfect team on your behalf. You'll still deal directly with me, I will take care of each contractors on your behalf and only ever receive one set of invoicing, but you'll have a hand picked team assembled just for your project!

How do I get started?

If you have an idea for a project but don't know where to start, just ask me any questions we have and I can make sure that you're on the right track
